Improvements on the way for Turkey Mt

The link below is a report Channel 6 ran last week on some improvements the Riverparks, via the Kaiser Foundation, is going to make to Turkey Mt.....All of the work will be done on the City owned land at Turkey Mt....None of the privately held land in that area will be affected.
This is not associated w/ the Keep Turkey Mt Green Campaign....it is just pretty exciting stuff for Turkey, so I wanted to share.

May need to rally

Here is the latest update: Negotiations are still taking place between the YMCA and the Developers....the "Y" has let me know that we may need to start rallying the troops for the next re-zoning hearing that will take place in June. I don't have any more details other than we should be prepared to have a strong representation of our position if/when we need it in June.

Please e-mail/call me w/ questions.

Thanks!

Things moving along nicely

I don't really have anything significant to report other than things are still moving forward favorably w/ the YMCA and the developer.
The main reason I am posting an update it just to "Keep Turkey Mountain Green" fresh in your minds!   :)

Thanks

March 26th Continuance to be granted

I have had a couple great meetings w/ the YMCA.   Things between the YMCA and the developer are moving forward in a very favorable way.   I will be able to get more specific at the right time.
The YMCA has informed me that we do not need to show up to the rezoning meeting on Wed the 26th.   The Developer has agreed to not contest another continuance and there is no reason to think otherwise.
The YMCA has requested that people write some formal letters they can use when/if necessary. Use the petition site
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/keep-turkey-mountain-green
as a guideline, but make your letter a little more formal.  Something more appropriate to present to a government official if needed.    Please keep everything positive w/ the point of the letter focusing on how Turkey Mt is a vital asset to the lifestyle you enjoy in Tulsa.
Please e-mail letters on a Word Document to me at scott@robcorep.com   If I could have a few by tomorrow, Tues the 25th, that would be a big help.   I will send them on to the YMCA and the Riverparks.

Thanks!

Meeting w/ developers update

The YMCA met w/ the developer last week. The developer is open to selling all or part of the land to the YMCA! The Y also let the developer know that they will be requesting an environmental impact study if the developer does decide to go forward w/ the zoning request when the hearing comes up again on 3/26.
The Y & the developer are meeting again 3/19/08. I hope to have some more good news to post later in the week.
